Entrepreneur partnered with CultureIQ to discover the best company cultures in America, and we were thrilled to have been selected among the Top 50 medium-sized companies.
Too many companies name a handful of buzzwords as values and hope that a healthy company culture will be the outcome.
Good company culture doesn’t just happen.
At Rainforest, we believe that the best way to improve our product is to build a great team behind it. We keep our values clear, and strategically invest in certain traditions that enable every Rainforester to live those values every single day.
We believe that an open, transparent culture is a healthy one. We encourage everyone on the team to provide honest feedback about our company and hold regular “AMA” sessions with our CEO to give each employee a chance to have their voice be heard.
A team is only as strong as the relationships between its individuals. We have daily team lunches to help encourage team bonding, and a few times a year we have onsite retreats to give Rainforesters a chance to relax and get to know each other better (this is especially important for our distributed team!).
Our team is composed of spread out across five continents and a diversity of backgrounds. We encourage everyone to embrace and share their passions, no matter how “weird” they are! We also run programs to help Rainforesters fulfill their professional passions, such as 1:1 management training for people who are interested in managing teams in the future.
It’s not always easy. Building a company to optimize for strong culture is a long game. We have aggressive goals (as all tech startups do), and there are plenty of shiny distractions and quick wins that we ultimately pass on to preserve culture.
We’re always looking for people who can help us continue to build a positive, productive culture at Rainforest. If you think that you’d be a great addition to the Rainforest QA team, check out our open roles and let us know!
